Should I hire a Personal Assistant directly?

So why hire an Austin-based personal assistant through Queen of To Do, instead of hiring your own directly? There are many advantages, but it mostly comes down to ease. After a person has been found, we onboard and train them extensively (as outlined here). This includes training on professionalism, tips and tricks to handle stressful situations, organizing and decluttering strategies, and how to begin work on a brand new household. Kate, our founder and co-owner, oversees all employees and is available for questions or help once employees are on their own. She might not have really big hair (except in the humidity!), but she is full of secrets! 

This leads to another advantage of using Queen of To Do for a personal assistant: access to knowledge. Since Queen of To Do has worked with many vendors and on different projects over the last 11 years, we know a good plumber, roofer, etc. We also know where in Austin to go for pretty much anything you can think of. You’d be hard pressed to find someone on the job market with this much combined knowledge!

All of our Personal Assistants are fantastic at organizing, running errands, and general household help. The advantage of working with Queen of To Do is that we also have specialists on staff for a variety of other tasks, like plant care/gardening, herbs, making your home more eco-friendly, meal prepping, car detailing and party planning, to name a few. You will primarily work with one Personal Assistant, but the option to call in a specialist is always there.

Queen of To Do also runs background checks and carries insurance on all employees – $1 million in general liability insurance.
